Good Feeling #6 – Nishant chronicles history of Kalwa

Image
Kalwa's history being finally written across The fragrance of the place, we are rooted in will continue traveling with us wherever we go The place we are born in; the place we spend our childhood in; the place we evolve as youngsters; the place we mature as adults; I strongly believe; we belong to that place forever. We may migrate to some other place; but the fragrance of the place, we are rooted in will continue traveling with us wherever we go. In fact, I still remember saying somebody – If you pay a little more attention, I may still be smelling of Kalwa . Yes, Kalwa is the place, of which we had been inhabitants of since our childhood. We were born here. If I had to present a list of names, just one single blog won’t suffice. But, I would still want to name my best friends Prashant Mhatre and Anil Mhatre; we are all of the same age. Born around the same time; we hail from Kalwa. Others may or may not be born here; but it won’t be wrong to say that they to...

Good Feeling #5 – Melisa’s healthy journey of food from terrace to stove

Image
Mel's Own It's a feast for your taste buds when you add your hard work to chicken curry Hobbies are born out of passion. If the color of that passion is green, it is a reason to celebrate. This is the story of one such green passion. This is the story of Melisa Pereira’s terrace garden. Around the month of March, when I thought of starting this blog to celebrate stories of passion; of mine, of my friends, of my readers, of my followers on social media, of artists… I happened to stumble upon Melisa’s passion. Ever since, I have wanted to write this story. And I feel extremely guilty of the delay caused in writing this story. Melisa and I have known each other for almost eight years now. I’ve always known her as the intelligent woman with a heart of gold; her sense of humor is equally compelling. But when I discovered her passion for vegetable gardening, I couldn’t hold myself back from wanting to know more about this passion of hers. When I was chatting wi...

Good Feeling #4 – Story times with the passionate storytellers of TMYS

Image
TMYS had three recent back-to-back releases TMYS is reaching out  to more storytellers  today. Out there; yes, right out there, exists a community of storytellers. Their minds keep wandering. I won’t say this wandering only happens around ideas. These minds wander around certain thoughts, which take the shape of passionate stories. Storytellers are greedy, hungry and thirsty by birth. This greed, hunger and thirst is for wealth; don’t misunderstand this wealth to be of materialistic value. This value is all about the earthen pot of stories, which is wealthier than all other wealth in this world. Many might not know that the Sippys; producers of the Indian epic Sholay had rented a bungalow for their resident writers Salim-Javed (Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan) to gift them a writers-friendly environment. So tough to believe, isn’t it? Two of the finest writers of Indian cinema had an entire bungalow to spend time writing stories. In short, storytellers are a...

Good Feeling #3 – Grey Sails

Image
Maddie makes sure her Grey Sails What matters the most is how much you evolved as a soul Stories keep floating around us. But we don’t take deep interest in them or often avoid discovering them. If the story has a shock value, we tend to grow a little biased too. If it sounds odd, I’ve nothing to say. But what if, I say at one point of time, in our lives, we could be faced with our own story. Only the flow it follows may vary. So, this is that story of the very passionate Maddie. Who is Maddie? She is the first iPhonOgrapher, I had the privilege to meet and become friends with. And, I am never going to forget one important thing about her; she gave wings to my first ever storytelling venture – EVERYDAY STORY MAKER. But the story, I wish to write today is not about Maddie herself but her passion. Friends like me, who know her will be heard saying – Oh yes Maddie is passionate about Warli Art, Tattoos, Crochets, etc. But this is not that story. This is a story about one ...

Good Feeling #2 – An Unseen India

Image
Prashant Mhatre - Capturing another moment of an Unseen India It is all about the passion, he feels for the country in which we were born. On February 7 th , 2020 Prashant made his debut in Kolkata as the founder of his newly launched venture TRAVEL UNSEEN INDIA . Don’t get me wrong when I write, Prashant made his debut in Kolkata. He has been to the City of Joy on other occasions too; mostly when he had to travel due to his work. But this was going to be his first ever vacation in the official city of Biggie Biggie Bong Bongs. Accompanied by his wife, Prashant’s arrived in Kolkata during late evening hours. He was travelling by the Mumbai CST – Howrah Duronto Express (12261), which got delayed unreasonably. This is that very trip, which I think could have made his resolve stronger to present an India still unseen by the world. Since Prashant and Swati’s trip was timed around one of the yet-to-fade-month of winter (February), it was unexpected of how Kolkata was g...

Good Feeling #1 – Gudi Padwa/ The Debut Post

Image
The Gudi Padwa of 2020 will remain unforgettable and serve as motivation to live life on good terms. On March 25, 2020 the official calmanac of Maharashtra went through a quiet transition from the Falgun month of 1941 to the Chaitra month of 1942. Every Maharashtrian ushered in the New Year by putting up a Gudi and celebrating the most sacred occasion of Gudi Padwa. The only difference being, no one could step out of their homes to participate in the colorful processions, which have become an integral part of our culture. The Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri Uddhavji Thackeray addressed the state and its citizens. In his eyes, I could see the pain that he felt while asking us citizens to stay back home. Being a citizen of the state, he now heads, we made sure to stay indoors. The threat of pandemic might have left us concerned. But his words lifted our spirits and we started our day by exchanging generous morsels of Puranpoli. I am thankful to mom that before our c...
